| Piano Lesson Ideas...
In order to get
the most from a piano
lesson it is important that you know what you want to get out of it.
It is also a good idea that you make lessons fun and enjoyable so as
not to get bored and disillusioned. Before you start lessons try
these suggestions to get the most from it.
First set some
goals.
Are you starting
from scratch and want
to develop into an advanced pianist or is it more of a casual thing.
Or are you looking to pick up the skills you have lost through lack
of practice. Many people play when they are young but give up for a
time, so you could want to get back to a good standard. Set some
plans so you know where you want to get to. This works in almost all
aspects of life.
Next, plan your
week ahead.
It is
increasingly difficult for most
people to find time in hectic schedules and busy lives. Try to plan
when you can fit in some practice time whether in the morning before
work or when you get home. Try to practice regularly so you can
actually make some good progress. It doesn't matter if you are short
of time, just try and make some time to do it.
Finally, decide
how you intend to
learn.
You may decide
to pay for a piano
teacher to give you lessons and decide your practice plans and how
you should learn, or you may decide to do it for yourself. A good
teacher will be excellent but also probably very expensive. I
personally recommend using an online course as they have progressed
so far from the old fashioned teach yourself to play books. You can
learn with video and audio and software as well, so it is much more
advanced. Whichever you choose though, be sure to commit to it.
This should give
you some piano lesson
ideas before you get started and the only thing left is to take
action and get started.
